This page provides open-access materials developed within the Identity Decode project. The resources are designed for youth workers, trainers, NGOs, educators, municipalities, and youth organisations who want to address identity-based online manipulation through safe, reflective, and democracy-strengthening youth work.

All materials are available in digital format and designed for practical use in non-formal education settings.

Youth Worker Competency Matrix

The Youth Worker Competency Matrix defines the key knowledge, skills, and attitudes youth workers need to facilitate safe and meaningful dialogue on identity-based digital manipulation.

It helps youth workers understand what competences are needed when working with young people on emotionally sensitive topics such as belonging, exclusion, peer influence, polarisation, and online disinformation.

  • Youth workers
  • Trainers
  • Facilitators
  • Youth organisations
  • NGOs working on civic education, inclusion, and media literacy

People can use the matrix to:

  • assess youth workers’ existing competences;
  • plan training activities;
  • design learning outcomes;
  • improve facilitation practices;
  • support professional development in youth work.
